Fall Ball

FALL FASTPITCH SOFTBALL   

   

DETAILS:  Girls have the opportunity to play fastpitch softball in the late summer/early fall.  The season  is shortened to about 5 weeks.  Games consist of 2 games played on Sunday afternoons, a qualifier tournament, and a state tournament.  Practice schedule is determined by the coach, but usually is held 1 time a week.  Teams will play the first week’s games at a location proximate to their location.  Location of the second week’s games will be based upon your  record.  2-0 record will advance to site A (TBD), 1-1 record will advance to site B (TBD), and   0-2 record will advance to site C (TBD).  Location for week 3 will use the same format based  upon your record during the first 2 weeks.  Location of the qualifier and state tournament will  be posted on the MMFL website.

DATES:  August 24, September 7, September 14, September 20-21, and September 27-28.  The first 3 week league games are played on Sunday afternoon’s.  Team will play 2 games on each of the  first 3 weeks.  Game times are scheduled for noon, 1:30, 3:00, and 4:30.  The league tries to schedule teams to play back-to-back meaning noon and 1:30 games OR 3:00 and 4:30 games; however, it is possible to play noon and 4:30 games.  Qualifier and state tournament will be the same format as the tournaments the teams played in during the summer.  

REGISTRATION:    A fall ball registration form will be posted on the Irondale website (www.knightsfastpitch.org). Registration deadline is Friday, August 1, 2008.  Registration fee will be $55-$60.  Reminder – any 10U player that has to play 12U this fall will need to contact Collette Pitzen to order a uniform. AGE GROUPS:   Your age group for fall ball is determined by your age on December 31, 2008.  For example if you are 10 on December 31st then you are eligible to play 10U, if you are 15 on December 31st then you are eligible to play 16U.  Teams will be formed at 10U, 12U, 14U,16U, and 18U based upon the interest of the players.  Ten (10) players are needed to form a team.
